The UFHC-007 Vanargand is the mainstay cruiser for the Space Corps in the R-Type Series. It is the warship of choice for most missions against the Bydo Empire, as it is fast for a ship of its size, can dock units, and is heavily armed.

Like most ships unique to R-Type Command, not much is known about the Vanargand. It is estimated to be between 550-600 meters long, 200-250 meters tall, and 120-130 meters wide at its peak. It is equipped with weapons systems similar to that of the higher-class Dreadnoughts, though not quite as powerful. The bridge-mounted turrets can operate separately from the hull turrets.
The Vanargand has powerful laser-based hull weapons that can attack and block, while its bridge turrets can fire particle beams that can counter enemy attacks. It also has an extremely powerful Vaen Cannon that can pierce through nearly anything in range.

The Vanargand is a reference to the Vanir, the gods of divination, wisdom, and fertility. They were absorbed into the Aesir after a short war between the two forces.
