The Shield Force is a Force introduced in R-Type Final. It is used by TL-T Chiron and TL-1A Iason.
Description
Created to help the defenses of humanoid units. Regularly used by pilots with carpentry tendencies. Intended for defense, it is quickly turned to offensive purposes by pilots. Developers noted this tactical shift and later introduced the Beam Saber Force as a result.
When detached, this force doesn't attack in R-Type Final, but is able to fire in the pattern of the Defensive Force (4 directions like the X shape at Level 3) in R-Type Final 2.
Red Laser: Laser Lance - Lasers stick out of Force a short distance.
Blue Laser: Laser Blade - Lasers spin around while sticking out of Force at angles.
Yellow Laser: Laser Shield - Lasers spin around vertically creating a fan shaped attack.
A slightly modified version is the Mirror Shield Force which gains the ability to deflect enemy shots.
