Cancer is one of the most common foes facing any pilot attacking Bydo forces. It's a relatively slow-moving hovering machine that occasionally takes a potshot at approaching pilots. This enemy is usually encountered earlier in missions and is known for slowly but inexorably tracking down the pilot. They can be aggravating foes that appear in the worst places (often behind or at odd angles) and should not be under-estimated, as they're known to doggedly pursue invaders and fire shots along hard-to-avoid vectors.

R-Type[]
An older version of a Bydo weapon used for wide area control, also capable of hovering. This is one of the first weapons developed by the Bydo.
This craft is also known as the Transbot in some releases (such as the Game Boy).
R-Type II[]
Rebuilt as "Remodeled Cancer". A modified version of the original unit in R-Type.
Super R-Type[]
At first, this space cadet looks harmless, until it starts to hover overhead! Then you're in trouble.
It's called Ironclaw in Super R-Type.
R-Type Delta[]
It appears in Gigantic Attack, Invasion and Awakening.

Trivia[]
- Strangely, the Cancer took the form of TL-T Chiron since R-Type Final forward.
- This could suggest that this reincarnation of the enemy was originally an TL-T Chiron (or maybe a prototype version of it) now under the Bydo's influence and being modified with the use of its own technology. This is mere speculation, though.
